How to Travel from Hanoi to Son La ?
Son La is situated 320km to the northwest of Hanoi, and 150km from Dien Bien Phu, at the height of 600-700 meters above sea level. The province can be reached by buses or motorbikes. From Hanoi, you can transport to Son La by road.
Son La’s bus station is 2km to the southwest of the town. It takes around 10 hours to transfer by buses between Hanoi and Son La if there is no serious breakdown. Besides, you can also get to Son La from Dien Bien Phu by regular morning buses, which take around 5 hours.
You can also get to Son La by air since there is Na San Airport, which is 20km from the town center. There is only one weekly flight and ticket can be booked at Son La hotel.
